ABA Job Description
CORRESPONDING SECRETARY
BASIC FUNCTION
Receives correspondence from the membership and supplies The Bell Tower Editor with information suitable for publishing in The Bell Tower.
CORRESPONDING SECRETARY QUALIFICATIONS
1. Have an interest in corresponding with ABA members
2. Have time to meet Presidents and Bell Tower requests' promptly.

Current Procedures
Corresponding Secretary
1. Reply to correspondence from President and send copies of reply to Executive Board members.
2. Attend all meetings of the Corporation, the Executive Board, and the Executive Committee.
3. Forward prospective member inquiries to Bell Tower Standing Committee for answering and sending appropriate materials.
4. Forward any $4.00 checks received for membership dues to Bell Tower Standing Committee member to answer and send appropriate material.
5. Advise Bell Tower Standing Committee of any requests for information on a single type of bell.
6. Notify Chaplain, of members who have died, for sending proper cards/notes, to families of deceased members and also notify the Editor for Bell Tower notice.
7. Keep correspondence current.
8. Write Corresponding Secretary's Column with such news as requested by the Editor.
9. Provide any membership promotion ideas to the Chairman of the Membership Expansion Committee.
10. Refer possible advertisers to the Bell Tower Advertising Chairman.
11. Remit to Treasurer all expenses, with receipts, when the job is completed but no later than end of fiscal year, March 31st. Committees whose budgets are large, remit expenses with receipts for payment periodically and send in any remaining expense no later than end of fiscal year, March 31st.
12. Submit four copies of annual report to ABA Recording Secretary at the Executive Committee meeting held before the annual convention; if not attending convention, send four copies of annual report to the President three weeks before convention.
