ABA Job Description
INTERNET COORDINATOR
BASIC FUNCTION
- To manage, monitor and update the ABA internet website (http://www.americanbell.org) that promotes the ABA, and to act as liaison between the internet user and ABA in order to build goodwill.
- To monitor and work with a panel of resource persons who have internet access and knowledge of specific bells and/or bell related subjects so as to respond to the various inquiries about bells and/or bell related subjects of the internet user.
COORDINATOR QUALIFICATIONS
- Computer literate with internet access.
- Internet site design and maintenance as needed.
- Have a copy of MS Word and capability of use.
- Have email availability
- Maintain a group of resource persons who have knowledge of specific bells and/or bell-related subjects.
- Computer and internet user preferable.
- email experience and use preferable.

Current Procedures
Internet Coordinator
1. General:
- a. Coordinate recommendations of content for new and/or revised ABA Internet pages. Major changes and their cost shall be approved by the Executive Board before being made.
- b. Manage the inquiry section of the web site, prepare or seek assistance for response to any internet inquiries.
- c. Maintain a list of resource persons and authorized contact information that includes post office box numbers, email addresses, FAX numbers and/or telephone numbers. This list of resource persons shall be sent to ABA, 7210 Bellbrook Drive; San Antonio, TX 78227-1002
- d. Send inquires that have no designated resource person to the ABA, 7210 Bellbrook Drive; San Antonio, TX 78227-1002.
- e. Information on ABA members shall not be given to inquirers without the member’s permission.
- f. Information (such as name, address, phone, etc.) of any person or organization shall not be placed on the ABA web site without written permission of the person or organization.
- g. When an in-depth answer is necessary for an inquiry, acknowledge receipt of the inquiry and provide a date when a detailed response can be expected. Every effort should be made to provide an answer within two weeks.
- h. Interact with the Bell Tower editor, Membership Chairman, Membership Expansion Committee Chairman, and the Chairman of the Bell Tower Standing Committee.
- i. All responses shall present information about the ABA and encourage inquirers to join the ABA.
2. Coordinator
- a. Manage the ABA web site (http://www.americanbell.org) and prepare updates to keep all data and information current.
- b. Assure that dues are accurately posted on the "Membership" page.
- c. Monitor "Bell Talk" forum to assure only approved usage, while deleting inappropriate posts and commercial posts.
- d. Maintain "Contact Us" page updates to ABA officer changes.
- e. Develop a resource panel of members who have knowledge of specific bell types and/or subjects. Coordinate responses by resource panel members and assure response to all inquiries in a timely manner.
- f. Update "Events" page as needed.
- g. Coordinate 'Convention Plans" page
- h. Remit to treasurer all expenses, with receipts and necessary details no later than end of fiscal year, March 31st Members of the committee whose budgets are large, remit expenses with receipts for payment periodically and send in any remaining expense no later than the end of the fiscal year, March 31st
- i. Submit four copies of annual report to ABA Recording Secretary at the Executive Committee meeting held before the annual convention; if not attending, send four copies of annual report to the President three weeks before convention.
- j. Attend the Executive Committee meeting chaired by the President on day before convention.
3. Resource Members
- a. Respond to assigned inquiries in a timely courteous manner and keep Committee Chairman informed.
