Thank you for your service to the ABA as (an officer and member of the ABA Executive Board) or (committee member).  If you haven’t already done so, please review your office/committee’s job description on the ABA website to become familiar with your responsibilities.

In January the Job Description Committee will contact you for updates to your job description.  In addition to suggesting tasks to be added or deleted, please note any typos, inconsistencies, redundancies, or clarifications.  Send your updates and revisions to (chairman’s email address). You may do this at any time and do not need to wait until contacted in January.

You may have been given a folder with your office’s printed job description.  In the past, the Job Description Committee updated this folder at convention.  Now the job descriptions are on the ABA website and officers are responsible for printing their own updates.  If you do not have this job description folder, add a copy of the job description to your file of meeting notes, correspondence, and sample forms.

Contact (chairman) at (chairman’s email address). if you have any questions.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.  You will find the directions for accessing your office/committee’s job description from the ABA website at the end of this message.
