ABA Job Description
SECOND VICE PRESIDENT
BASIC FUNCTION
In the absence of the First Vice President the Second Vice President shall perform the duties of First Vice President.
SECOND VICE PRESIDENT QUALIFICATIONS
1. Possess leadership qualities
2. Organizational skills, presiding experience, and typing ability desired
3. Be familiar with ABA policies and background
4. Become acquainted with duties of all ABA committees
5. Have time and interest in working with membership expansion

Current Procedures
Second Vice President
1. Reply to correspondence from President and send copies of reply to Executive Board members.
2. Attend all meetings of the Corporation, the Executive Board, and the Executive Committee.
3. Become familiar with duties of all ABA Committees.
4. Plan and chair a meeting for first timers at annual convention. Check with Convention Chairman for time and place.
5. Invite Welcome Letter Writers and Membership Chairman to attend the First Timers meeting that is held at annual convention.
6. Provide a method of identification for first timers to wear at convention so that, members will be able to recognize and greet them. Coordinate with the
Convention Committee Chairman.
7. The Second Vice President shall have the honor of officially recognizing the First Timers at the first luncheon of the annual convention.
8. Is advisor to the Membership Expansion Committee. The ABA Address: 7210 Bellbrook Drive; San Antonio, TX 78227-1002 and http://www.americanbell.org, are to be the only addresses on all advertisements and other publicity material.
9. Remit to Treasurer all expenses, with receipts, when the job is completed but no later than end of fiscal year, March 31st. Committees whose budgets are large, remit expenses with receipts for payment periodically and send in any remaining expense no later than end of fiscal year, March 31st
10. Submit four copies of annual report to ABA Recording Secretary at the Executive Committee meeting held before the annual convention; if not attending convention, send four copies of annual report to the President three weeks before convention.
11. The Second Vice President shall be a member of the convention committee for the third convention following his/her election and shall serve as liaison between the convention committee and the Executive Board in the advance planning.
12. ABA Committees listed in the Bylaws are formed to carry on the required business of the ABA and remain constant as permanent ABA Committees. Special projects are developed through the Executive Board as a means to provide for a particular need; to promote interest in bells, to develop greater bell knowledge, and enthusiasm in bell collecting, i.e... Auction and Behold. These projects continue until they are no longer effective and/or an improved project is approved by the Executive Board.
